Efficacy Evaluation Testing
01

Efficacy Evaluation Testing

We evaluate the efficacy of materials for bio-product development and research, offering tailored efficacy assessment across cosmetics, health functional foods, pharmaceuticals and more.

Biomedical Efficacy Assessment

Efficacy evaluation verifying the effects and mechanisms of pharmaceutical and medical device materials in cell and animal models.

Antioxidant

Testing that evaluates antioxidant capacity or quantifies antioxidant substances.

DPPH, ABTS, ORAC and SOD activity assays; total phenolic, flavonoid and carotenoid content
Cytotoxicity

Testing that identifies concentrations at which a material is not cytotoxic.

MTT, WST-1, NR, CCK-8 and LDH assays
Anti-inflammatory

Testing that evaluates a material anti-inflammatory capacity.

Inflammatory biomarker analysis (qRT-PCR, WB, ELISA), nitric oxide assay and SOD activity assay
Anti-cancer

Testing that evaluates a material anti-cancer capacity.

Cytotoxicity in normal and cancer cells (MTT, NRU assays) and oncogene / tumour-suppressor biomarker analysis (qRT-PCR, WB)
02

Antimicrobial & Antiviral Testing

We are exposed to countless pathogens every day. As development of antimicrobial and antiviral functional materials accelerates, NPChemBio Co., Ltd. provides efficacy testing against bacteria, fungi and viruses.

항균Antiviral 시험
항균·항진균 시험

Testing that evaluates a material ability to inhibit bacterial or fungal growth.

  • Paper disc diffusion assay
  • MIC (minimum inhibition concentration) test
  • Ministry of Environment biocide (disinfectant) efficacy analysis
  • MFDS efficacy testing methods for topical disinfectants and more
  • Preservative efficacy testing (challenge test)
  • Microbial limit testing
Cytotoxicity Testing
03

Cytotoxicity Testing

We provide cytotoxicity evaluation using a range of cell lines, accurately assessing material safety with standardized methods such as MTT and LDH assays.

MTT Assay

Cytotoxicity is quantified by measuring cellular metabolic activity.

LDH Assay

Toxicity is assessed from LDH release, a marker of membrane damage.

Cell Viability

Cell viability is measured across treatment concentrations to establish safe levels.

IC50 Calculation

The 50% growth-inhibitory concentration is calculated to compare toxicity.

Safety Evaluation

Comprehensive cell-based safety data is provided.

Alternatives to Animal Testing - NAMs(Alternatives to Animal Testing법)
05

Alternatives to Animal Testing

Since February 2017, cosmetics tested on animals may no longer be distributed or sold in Korea, creating demand for more ethical and scientific methods. NPChemBio Co., Ltd. offers human tissue model-based alternatives to animal testing for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and more.

Ocular Mucosa Toxicity

Ocular Mucosa Toxicity Evaluation

Instead of animal eyes, we use a 3D human corneal-like tissue model to evaluate ocular mucosa irritation, providing reliable safety data through an OECD-approved alternative method.

  • Eye irritation test (OECD TG 492)
  • Based on the reconstructed human cornea-like epithelium (RhCE) model
  • Classification of irritation and corrosion potential
  • For cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and medical devices
  • Accredited test reports available
Functional Evaluation Package
06

Functional Evaluation Package

A tailored one-stop efficacy evaluation service for the successful development of drug candidates and functional materials. In vitro From screening In vivo animal models and histopathology, we provide reliable, integrated efficacy data.

Antiviral Efficacy Evaluation

Using BSL-2 virus models such as influenza and coronavirus, we evaluate viral inhibition in vitro / in vivo comprehensively, delivering high-quality reports from plaque reduction assays through animal lung histopathology.

  • Infection inhibition rate assessment (plaque assay)
  • Custom BSL-2 virus models including influenza and coronavirus
  • Lung histopathology (H&E) in animal models
  • Cytokine analysis (IL-6, TNF-α, etc.)
  • Accredited test reports available

Non-clinical CRO FAQ

What non-clinical tests can I request?
We perform non-clinical testing and analysis including efficacy evaluation, antibacterial and antiviral testing, cytotoxicity testing, alternative-to-animal testing and pharmacokinetic analysis. Evaluations are tailored to the field (cosmetics, health functional foods, pharmaceuticals), and details of test items and conditions are provided on enquiry.

Can you evaluate the functionality of health functional foods?
Yes. We provide non-clinical efficacy evaluation that satisfies the MFDS guidelines for functional evaluation of health functional foods. Functional areas include gut health, body-fat reduction, anti-diabetes, immune activity, brain health, exercise function (muscle), menopausal health and hair health. Please contact us for each area.
Can you evaluate the efficacy of cosmetic ingredients?
Yes. We evaluate cosmetic ingredient efficacy including anti-wrinkle, whitening, anti-pollution, moisturizing, astringent, UV protection (in vitro) and hair-loss prevention.
Do you offer antibacterial and antiviral testing?
Yes. We provide antibacterial and antiviral efficacy evaluation using bacteria, fungi and viruses. The KOLAS accredited scope (test standards) can be viewed on our KOLAS Accredited Testing page.
View KOLAS Accredited Testing page →
Can you run tests using animal models?
Yes. We verify efficacy in vivo using various disease animal models, such as rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune, lung and skin fibrosis, and metabolic disease models. Model selection and study design are discussed on enquiry.
How can I find out the turnaround time and cost?
They depend on the type of test and the number of samples, so we provide them individually. Please submit an online inquiry or a test request form.
